Don’t Miss the Maryland Polar Bear Plunge This Month at Sandy Point Park!
From January 23-25 at Sandy Point Park, Marylanders of all stripes will take the plunge into the Chesapeake as part of the 2020 Maryland Polar Bear Plunge. Aside from being an unforgettable experience with a relentlessly positive atmosphere, the Polar Bear Plunge benefits the thousands of local Special Olympics athletes who represent Maryland throughout the year. This year’s fundraising goal is $3 million and plunge teams are already well on their way to reaching that mark.
When you arrive for your own plunge, you’ll start at the Plunge Plaza, which has food and hot coffee, and then you’ll visit the heated changing tents before you head to the beach. After you hit the water, head on over to the heated Rams Head Ice Lodge, where you can warm up with some dry clothes, craft beer, live music, and tasty food. Check out the website for full weekend schedule, registration information, and more.
